Sleepless NightsA Poem by José HumildeAfter a conversation I had with a good friend, I had this idea for a fun poem.
I spend sleepless nights, tossing and turning.
My heart aches so bad, it feels like it's burning. Thinking of you, it keeps my mind racing. Foolish dreams are what I keep chasing. My broken soul is lost, and I need to find it. I also need sutures; perhaps I can bind it. What I really need to do is explain my true feelings. How you send me soaring, my head scrapes on ceilings. What I enjoy most is making you laugh. It makes my heart full, instead of empty or half. I'd challenge any boy that "spits game" your way. A match of their choosing. Any game, I'll play. Your love is the prize, and I want to win it. Life has no purpose if I can't have you in it. © 2010 José HumildeAuthor's Note
