HECTOR THE VICTOR

HECTOR THE VICTOR

A Poem by Riyo Yori
"

The fall of Troy

"

Hector

The Trojan’s

Forever victor

Bade farewell

To his son and His son’s

Dear mother.

For the last time

He glanced,

He kissed them both "

Her wife and child.

Her face

He gently touched,

Then he paced

Away from them.

Though bitter for her

To the battlefield

Still he went.

Pathetic Andromache

Doesn’t have the key

To stop her heart’s King

From leaving.

Though reluctant she is

To the choice of his,

She can do nothing

But to bear the grief " weep.

And to his longing

To fight for Troy ‘til death

She did yield.

All she has to do

Is to accept his lot "

To be slain

By the Greek’s Champion "

Achilles Himself,

Who for long

In his tent hid.

When the invincible

Demigod " Achilles,

Saw a chance

He slew him…

In just a split second

He is lifeless.

Instantly she lost him,

Their child fatherless.

Though his life

In just a second

Ended

“Hector is Troy’s

Forever Victor!”

The Trojans

Declared…
