Longing

Longing

A Poem by JM Taylor
"

A mother's present love is so pivotal. The loneliness I felt was unbearable. It was a slow torture to the death of my child self's soul.

"
I was alone, and afraid. Never chose to be In it. Desperately calling to mama to play with me, But she wouldn't. I can't recall a time she held me in her arms, armed robbery of intimacy.

Now hating but longing at the same time to be touched. If someone could break down the barriers of the old me, please.. anyone, just hold me.

This rings true, with genuine emotion; even though it's so brief.

The first paragraph reflects back, to that time when this writer needed natural motherly love; and angst caused by it being absent.

In the next paragraph, it raises up this writer's current emotional state; having been damaged down to that prior neglect. It seems as if she's torturously trapped, in the contradictory way which she refers to.
