Long Journey

Long Journey

A Poem by Jordyn Zacharias

Traveling down an Empty Road
Where it leads i do not Know
The Pavement faded, chipped, and cracked
Around the rusted Railroad Track
An Old White Train will pass me By
Come to say its Last Goodbye
And Yet I Travel On

Traveling down an Empty Road
Where it leads i do not Know
I come to see an old Creekbed
With gnarled lillies and old fisheads
An Old Red Bridge rests end to end
With flaked paint and boards that bend
And Yet I Travel On

Traveling down an Empty Road
Where it leads i do not Know
A new Red truck speeds down the way
With Shining Chrome and Polished Panes
The truck then stopped along my side
The Driver asked, "You need a ride?"
And Yet We Travel On
