The Nature of Universalism

The Nature of Universalism

Some thoughts on Christian Universalism.

"
As I stated previously in my new biography on here, I identify as a Christian Universalist. The reason for this is I sincerely believe that all will be reconciled to God in the end and that the many views of God are parts of God. We each have our own path that we must walk and we can walk it together or alone.

A Universalist is a person that believes that eventually all people will be saved. This is what I have chosen to believe. According to Brennan Manning, in his book, The Ragamuffin Gospel, universalism negates the need for the salvation through the blood offering of Jesus Christ. I humbly disagree, and say that it still leaves a need for it and it still leaves a need for the world to be healed and saved. It still doesn’t negate that we can’t live in a free for all society or world, because we have to love- we have to  show mercy and compassion, we have to do good to further help this healing.

The reason I argue this is because, as I said in my writing, “The Nature of Salvation,” long ago, the root word for salvation is salve and salves are used in healing and in medicine. They help to provide healing of wounds, sicknesses, and can even calm the mind and nerves.  Jesus came to heal as light in the world, which was and still is needed, but that doesn’t negate that there are still good people out there who are not Christian, who know  God and display Godly characteristics, and who apparently feel something within them, urging them to do good. As we all know, religion doesn’t make you moral anymore than being non religious or an atheist makes you amoral. There are good and bad people on all walks of life, and religion, even Christianity, is no exception.

The nature of Universalism, is one that where all will be reconciled because God is a loving God, we were created in His image (my preferred pronoun for God), and God isn’t going to damn us for just lack of belief. However,  I do believe that certain things, certain acts of evil, those can get you separated from God for all of eternity.

Do I think I am 100 percent right? I have no idea. This is just what I have come across in my own study and prayer. These are just my thoughts.
