I Extend Mercy

God is a big part of my life, and he is simply the inspiration to this poem. No matter what you're going through, he is the answer.

Do you feel

Like you back’s against the wall?

Is it real?

The pain sure, it comes on strong

Now would it hurt for you to cry

On me instead of your pillow?

When you’ve finished dying inside

And beating up yourself, your life

Can be much richer with mine

Because time and time again

 

I extend mercy

I extend healing

I extend blessings

I offer you peace

I extend love

I extend grace

I extend hope and I offer you these

 

Do you cry

When you think no one’s around?

Do you think

I don’t see your tears hit the ground?

So would it hurt for you to try

To trust me though I know you doubt?

That I see you dying inside

And beating up yourself

Your life

Can be much richer with mine

Because time and time again

Okay...well...now I feel like a 6 year old with my toes pointed in and my head hung low while I'm getting that gentle lecture that makes me feel stupid, lolz. Aww this was a really cute piece...and all too true. I agree with the other review--you could really turn this into a song if you wanted. Anyway, great job!!

This is a very lyrical work. I see that you sing and play guitar, so assume that is what you intended. But it does not really matter, because it is a magnificent work. You tell it all just like it is. Stop crying into your pillow, feeling lost and alone. God is always right there with you and willing to help, but you have to surrender the problem to him and not snatch it back. He provides it all. You show great skill. Keep that poetic pen moving it serves you well. Looking forward to reading more of your works.
