Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by JordanAnthony
"

No matter how much you love the person, no matter what they did in the past, just remember this: It's never too late to say goodbye.

"

I'm mad at you
You're mad at me
We're mad at each other because our future together was never meant to be
Broken promises lay shattered
Our lies remain untouched
We both agreed that the path we were going down, was just a little too much
God created the world in seven days
And in seven seconds I shattered mine
Because this relationship we were staging, was walking a thin, fine line
You're beautiful and I love you, but I can't go on anymore
Because of all the things you said, and all the things you swore
You turned your back towards me, you treated me wrong
But I have to thank you, because this relationship made me strong
I'm sorry for the things I did, I'm sorry that you had to change
I'm sorry for all the twisted lies, and all the times I acted a little strange
But all I had to say was goodbye, and we're better off this way
And that God will heal the wounds within the silent break of day
But you never believed me, not one thing I said
Maybe that's what caused our relationship to be barely hanging by a thread
It doesn't matter now, what's done is done
You tore me apart more then once, I hope you had your fun
I'm moving on now, please don't ask me why
As I silently turn my back towards you after saying my final goodbye

goodness..I got flashbacks of the early years of highschool and how guys only dated girls who were 'trophies'. No I wasn't part of that, but the first love thing pops into mind and how horrible that relationship went. This poem reminisces about the hardships of a relatinship and the bumps in the road that become more than tiny hills and turn into mountains. It's a time when you're learning about yourself and how you react to the different levels of stress that accompanies your intense infatuation with the other person. It also reminds me of when you don't communicate properly and your other half takes it the wrong way and then everything gets blown out of proportion and things just add onto it. Anyways, good job..it's a sad one but I like it.

Sad, but i like how you wrote it.
It explains hurt and pain and how that is in a relationship.
How trust is crucial, oh so very important.
And how people, if you aren't careful, can tear you apart.
That's what i got from it anyways.
Nicely written :)

Wooooow you're not even breaking up with me and I feel like crying, lolz!!! This is probably my favorite piece from you as of yet. And okay...listening to "A Beautiful Mess" PROBABLY didn't help it be any less sad or depressing. I feel bad for the girl that got this poem, heh!

The whole piece flows really well, and it's very endearing and the feelings ring loud and true in this. I think it takes a very strong person to finally step up and say hey gee ya know what...I think it's time to say byebye now.... Lordy knows I was never good at doing that thing.

Anyway, great job!! I loved it!

My favorite line as I see everyone else
"God created the world in seven days
And in seven seconds I shattered mine"
I love how it rhymes yet its not about the rhymes since it blends together so well. I also like the last line how it gives the overall poem and the subject matter closure. Great job your really talented
