"You have two lives. The second begins when you realize you only have one." - ConfuciusA Story by Joram- Article Writer“We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.” ― ConfuciusDid you know wasting your time living in the past could translate into wasting your life? And that everyone has two lives? Probably you agree with me or have no idea whether this is true. Confucius, a great Chinese Philosopher, once said, “We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.” This beautiful statement gives me the insight that when we realize that we only live once, we will be free and lead a new and real life. Do you think you have two lives?… LOL! In my case, I agree with Confucius. Many times we are taken hostage by the fears within ourselves and underrate our potential. Everyone has untapped potential and it is the high time we come to this realization. I hope you are discovering something. You and I have two lives each. There is another life you are unaware of and it will start the moment you discover that you only have one. You’ll be free in life the moment you realize you live only once in this world. Real life can only begin when you gain the insight that people’s expectations are holding you back from experiencing it. Live in the moment and make your time(s) count. A happy life is in your mindset; you can experience joy and hope in abundance with a little shift in your mindset. Find joy in all the little pieces of happiness you experience in your life. Wear a charming smile all the time; it brightens up your life moments. A radiant smile makes you welcoming and a source of joy to people you interact with every day. Your time is precious! Use it wisely and never wait to be ready for something because that time may never come. Never wait for things to happen, but instead realize them. Make things happen! You got this! You also have to live a life of gratitude. Complain less and give thanks even more. Always give positive energy and spread love around you. Give more than you receive; it is in giving that we receive. Probably, this is the second life we are yet to discover. I know more often than not you think about the bills you have to pay and the goals you have to achieve. I understand these things are part and parcel of our lives and we can’t overlook them. For heaven’s sake do not spend exaggerating the time on them. Sometimes back, I asked my friend Mike these questions: When was the last time you visited a new place and enjoyed a new meal? When was the last time you forgot everything else and lived as if nothing bothers you in the world? When was the last time you enjoyed your favorite game? When was the last time you held the hand of your wife and said I love you? I like your guess. It is as right as mine. Mike could hardly answer any of these questions. Life is a matter of enjoying little happy moments. A cumulative of these moments brings up a fantastic life. Truly, life has negatives and positives. Pick the positives and back yourself up regardless of how many times life tries to bring you down. Living in the past or getting over it is entirely your choice. We are bound to experience losses in life, but we have to train our minds to get over negativity within a short time. Don’t spend years getting over little things. Start living in the moment and see how impressive your life will turn out to be. Live your life consciously and be aware that every breath you take is a miracle. Parting shot: If you love your life, do not waste your time living in the past because time is what life is made of.
