"Who I've Become"

"Who I've Become"

A Poem by JorDizzly

Fading away
Softly and slowly
Day by day
As the wind and sun
Play coyly.

Who I used to be
The girl who was an innocent
The girl that was me
Has gone and disappeared
And never again will be bent
To anyone or anything.

Follower of the Father
A young woman of God
And never wanting to
Be a bother
Or cause doubt
Or distress
That girl.. O!! That girl!! She had to go!!

Strong now
Wiser as well
No more will I bow
To the wave's swell
But I will stand
And fight hand to hand.

My true nature
Was hidden and veiled
Locked up inside
Longing to fly and mature
To be loose and to move
And run as an animal.

Whether it be wrong
Whether it be sin
I'm becoming strong
And this will not ring
Hollow like the voice of tin
For this- THIS!!
Is who..
I've become.
