NinaA Poem by JoolsA story within a poemBare foot on cold ground A whisper A gentle sound. Nina has wings of silk so fine Her presence so magical So refined.
He spotted her sitting on the grave Nina a ghost Who misbehaved? He kept his distance Or else she’ll fly And then her mystery Will vanish and die.
A gold shoe he lies At the corner Of her grave His tears do run Like rivers quave . She wore those golden shoes The day she danced on Grasses new
Her heart so free She skipped with glee And lost one shoe In the fields of dew.
A busy road did lie ahead She did not notice Her eyes way lead The tragedy caused too much pain Her father’s tears Like salt in grain.
He rubbed his eyes But watches her there It helps to ease the heart Wrenching despair.
The gold shoe he lays on Nina’s grave He hides in the distance As she waves
She holds the shoe With a smile so bright Her memories only of her Dancing flight.
Her father cries with peace in heart She feels no pain From this depart A golden shoe she holds so dear Then silently will Disappear.
