At the Purple Porpoise PubA Poem by Jonathan CuzBubbawiczthe story of Day drinking in a seedy bar on a rainy day, The roof was leaking onto the patron next to me. It was the 2 of us and the Bartender. Talking about boats and life.
In the Purple Porpoise Pub, dim lights flicker low,
Three souls gather round, where the salty breezes blow. Big Coppit Key's Charm wrapped in twilight's embrace, with Laughter like waves the crash, then trace. Conversations drift like boats on a lazy tide, Words of engines and props, where dreams often hide. The rain drums a rhythm against the weathered roof, Yet here in this haven, we find our shared truth. Life Burdens dissolve in the amber glow, Strangers and friends in a moments Tableau. For under this neon, we weave our tales, In a chorus of spirits, where camaraderie prevails . Each with our scars, different paths we have known, Yet today in this moment we are never alone. Lost souls seeking solace, wrapped in our cheer, Bearing storms together, finding comfort in beer. So let the sky's weep, let the tempest draw near, In this seedy bar, we cast off all fear. For in laughter and stories, a bond gently grows, In the heart of the Keys, Where the wild night glows. © 2024 Jonathan CuzBubbawicz |
