Ode to Poe's "A Valentine"A Poem by Jonathan CuzBubbawiczIt is not amd hidden or as intricately construct as Poe's poem "A Valentine", but then again I am definitely no Edgar Allen Poe.
Kindred spirits who walk alone,
Igniting the ground and melting stone. Most dare not get close, for fear of the flame, Burned in their souls, their past is to blame. Everyone who gets close, runs for the hills, Reminding them why their life has no frills. Love made them lost, though inside they look, Yearning to find the second half of their book. Days turn to months, months turn to years, Anger inside, brings forth only tears. When least expected, these spirits collide, Not looking for each other, just wanting to hide. Life is a lesson, neither yearning to learn, Ignorant to the spark that would once again burn. Now the spirits found each other in the heart of a storm, Zephyrus unites them, blowing the west wind from the skies. Your passion weaves through my mind, I am lost in her eyes. © 2024 Jonathan CuzBubbawicz |
