Southern Gravy

Southern Gravy

A Poem by Jonathan CuzBubbawicz
"

Hanging out with a friend and she is cooking a birthday dinner for her friend.

"
In the heart of the evening, she stirs and she sings,
A symphony woven with love's finest strings,
Brandy Gessell, with grace in her hands,
Crafts a feast in the glow of the hearth's gentle sands.

The porkchops are tender, breaded and gold,
Kissed by the secrets of stories retold,
White gravy, a river of comfort divine,
Lands on the table like dreams intertwine.

Mashed potatoes, a pillow of clouds light and pure,
Hold the warmth of their laughter, the love that's secure,
Corn on the cob, sweet ribbons of sun,
Echo the joy of a life simply spun.

And there in the midst is a salad, a swirl,
Of colors and textures, a fresh summer twirl,
Each bite tells a tale of friendship and cheer,
As smiles spark brightly, this moment held dear.

It’s Brandon's birthday, a celebration anew,
Under the soft glow, where love feels so true,
With each joyful glance, enchanted am I,
By Brandy's sweet smile that lights up the sky.

For in this cozy kitchen, with magic so grand,
Is the essence of life that together we stand,
A gathering of souls, united in bliss,
In the warmth of her cooking, we find what we miss.
