An Ode to Uncle Johnny

An Ode to Uncle Johnny

A Poem by Jonny The Savage
"

In memory of a great man that I've never met.

"
I know I'll never meet you
But I'll always wish I had.
I hear stories of you
That make you more saint than man.

A breath of optimism and a joke
Are your definition;
Even at your worst
You still made everyone feel the best.

You're so much more than a story
Or a faded memory.
And I must say I appreciate
What I've inherited from you: my name.

Thanks, it's very rare for me to write an ode.
I feel like the person must deserve it.
