What I Believe
A Poem by Jonny The Savage
I always laugh when people tell me what I believe...I don't have a single belief, just a lot of theories, with various amounts of proof, and faith in what has been demonstrated time and time again; like gravity. Why is it that people view belief systems in such a binary way (you either believe in it or don't)? Is it really that far out there that someone would be interested in the human mind and why it creates mythologies and religions to explain its experiences and dreams? It feels like we're disconnected from our forefathers, and have become some sort of timeless imitation of humanity. Something like automatons that aren't even interested in the most important questions man has ever sought an answer to. Anyone who says they have all the answers is either insane or a conman. I'm more-so the latter than the former...in fact i only started studying psychology, over a decade ago, to get an edge on my poker game. There's just something amusing about the way everything falls together. Everything that had to happen for even something as simple as a dice being rolled or a card being drawn from the deck...it's something close to infinite, and most think that one must see chaos or order calling the shots...but I don't see why one has to choose! Why can't it be both? Why can't the Primium Mobile/God/The All/Natural Laws or whatever silly pet name you have for the concept of the First/Prime Mover have a personality that encompasses all that the Universe does? Isn't it all but implied by what stimuli we're able to perceive; in this strange place that we all share and disagree about everything from 'what it all means' to whether or not people have, or should have, free will; with one another?
