Emancipate Yourself From Mental Slavery

Emancipate Yourself From Mental Slavery

A Poem by Jonny The Savage

When the ties that bind are cut loose, we will either sink or swim. And all I see is Atlantis; self-destruction, sycophants slowly sinking! I float off in freedom, wishing I could destroy these mental shackles that they've adorned themselves (and what a fashion accessory!), but seeing the futility - I realize that I can only free myself. If I tried to force them from their tethers, chains and fetters; it'd be bad for my health. They would send me to the gallows, and as my limp body swayed, they would tremble and say, "see how he strikes us! He oppresses us just by being himself!" All the irony in the world couldn't have prepared me for this mentality: self-destruction as a virtue; euphoria from mental slavery!
