MiraclesA Chapter by Not A WriterMiracles do exist, and you can do one to if you only believe. Supernatural occurrences happen all
around us. Nothing can explain the reason why they happen or how they happen;
man’s logic fails to grasp the strong currents of love from God that surrounds
us. That is what the supernatural is really, if you want to put it in other
terms, God causes miracles in order to express His love toward us in the
clearest way possible, and He does it all the time. The sun rises from one
course of the earth and sets in another. The heart continues to beat in a
lifetime without any explanation as to why. Even the mind, how are you able to
understand what you are now reading? Science may have the answers to the why’s
and how’s in life, but the one answer they don’t have to a question is
this: how does life continue as it is? That is the one question scientists have
that will never be solved by man’s logic, for they are trying to solve a
miracle; miracles baffle man’s logic because it flips reason on its head.
Oxford Dictionary defines the word miracle as “a surprising and welcome
event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore
considered to be the work of a divine agency.” Fortunately, God has given us an
answer to how life continues in the book of Colossians: “And [Jesus] is before all things,
and in Him all things hold together (Col. 1:17).” (Not only can
Jesus hold this world together, but God can and the Holy Spirit. God is the
Controller of this world, Who ordains situations in His pleasure, and the Holy
Spirit guides people and the situations to come into God’s favor (Ps. 104).) The point is miracles surround all
of us. Nature that continues its course; situations that seem like coincidence;
or an awe-struck wonder are all miracles, but the greatest of miracles is faith
in God (great because glorifying God through faith is the only thing that truly
lasts). Faith in God is considered a miracle
because unregenerate and unsanctified man cannot accept the things of God and
desire them. The natural man cannot crack open the Bible and do what is
inscribed, but he can by faith. The natural man cannot kneel down in prayer in
desire for God, for he sees it as foolishness, but he can by faith. The natural
man cannot do anything worthy of agape love because he is not living
through the miracle of faith. The flesh sees through this world as logic and
reason, but when something or Someone shows up on the scene, flesh doubts. Hence,
Paul wrote to the Corinthians the power of God in its seemingly fraud of
absolute weakness in 1 Corinthians 1:20-21, “Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debate of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.” God uses our
faith to prove His greatness, but this faith cannot arise from ourselves alone
because than faith wouldn’t than be labeled as a miracle. Faith is like jumping
the Grand Canyon. If you haven’t figured it out, it is impossible. You need
something bigger to cross the canyon. Likewise, the same applies for our faith.
What we need is grace that comes from God. Miracles exist all around us, but we
have the opportunity to make a miracle happen now. The miracle can be
regeneration or sanctification; nevertheless, as long as a change happens
within us that is considered a change even as much as healing a physical
ailment. When we read the Scriptures, meditate upon it, and act on it " change
occurs by faith through love to God and to others. When we pray with a
believing spirit, God answers our prayer no matter how impossible it seems.
Nothing is impossible if you believe. Jesus even says so as he speaks to his
disciples in Mark 11:22-24, “And Jesus answered them, ‘Have
faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt
in his heart, but believes that what
he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that
you have received it, and it will be yours.” Miracles are not
just reserved for the Old Testament or for the early church, but also, miracles
are reserved for us believers. God is willing to work out a miracle for His
glory anytime; He is just waiting for you and me to accept His hand and say, “I
believe.” If God gave us His Son, would he not
freely give us all things? The chance to do miracles in the power of God’s name
is only a prayer away. Miracles are the available privilege to every regenerate
believer who places his trust in God. So much power is at our disposal to
further the glory of God, believe. That is all you are required to do: believe. © 2011 Not A Writer |
