Part two

 

Very well, I shall continue upon my tragedy.

Twas my father’s birthday upon my escape

As to which I slyly planned successfully.

Ha! What a fool! He never knew what had hit him!

Fortunately, there was a banquet upon my father’s behalf

Which as you and I both know,

He is prone to get drunk;

He and all that are present.

This was when I took my stroke.

Quickly did I climb down the castle’s walls

And with cunning tactics did I triumphantly

Cross the moat with sure victory!

A hard task as to only I could complete.

Little did he know what else I had done,

In his bedroom awaited hired assassins

Which would have slain him with the two-edged blade

But his keepers thus disposed of their well-being.

Meanwhile, I was in the market.

There I spied a lady more worthy than the sun

And fairer than the most precious of jewels.

To this I pursued the desire of discourse with her

Which she gladly welcomed and invited me to her home.

Her words I shall not forget,

“Come to my land, thou handsome prince,

There ye shall find peace to they soul

And men to comfort thee concerning your troubles.”

To this she bade me farewell with a kiss

And I longed to cleave with her.

Love, I must say, held my soul, heart, and mind captive.

Just as a thief comes in the night;

She had stolen my heart.

Thus, my pursuit had begun to the country of Ai

But, first, a horse must be met for travel, of course.

Which, was attained in a matter of fact, by a man

Who had trusted me with his property.

This man relied on religion to pass through life’s troubles

O! How wrong is he!

No longer had I talked to the beautiful woman

Did I shortly ride out of the city’s gates.

My need was met

My desire was soon to be fulfilled…

So as I thought….
