Unification Through Devastation

Unification Through Devastation

A Chapter by Jong Schrijver

A tyrant the people say

But what they don't realize

Is that they chose for him to rule

And he has always been the same

They're the ones who've changed.

He is a great leader

Of that there's no denying

Manipulating, denouncing

He worked to know the people's minds

But they never worked to know his.

He never played the race card

But religion was the key

Because God is the unifying force

Between the poor and rich

And so he broke the barrier.

The church was torn apart

The priests were thrown in jail

The mosque was smashed

And the temple up in flames

Unified by destruction of beliefs.

They call him crazy

But it did seem to work

No longer were there holy fights

Because in the new homeland

Tyrant equaled God.
