These hurtful wordsA Poem by Miranda RichardThis is about being hurt. About how insults remain while physical wounds fade.I am seething with anger and hatred
Tears stream down my face, which now swollen and red
Why do people say such cruel and unkind things,
When they know it will never stop hurting?
I'd rather be punched then insulted
The bruise will fade and go away
But the words will seep into my skin, and
I know I can only hope and pray
That those nasty words will cease to exist
I'm ending this poem with only this,
While cuts and bruises go away
These hurtful words will always stay. © 2017 Miranda RichardAuthor's Note
