Wind in the trees

A little song/poem I wrote quick the other day.

The only sound I want to hear
Is wind in the trees
Silence is the ever elusive
Smoke on the breeze

Fading light brings me close
A gentle autumn note
Halcyon rustle, calm as still water
Twilight seems to float

To break the seal of my peace
To let the needle fall
Sometimes the best thing to do
Is nothing at all.
