Father Nature.

Father Nature.

A Poem by Jon Buckley

Who is the father to all natural beauty?

We know of the mother.

The glory-seeker.

The one who stands tall on the mountains of her offspring,

And shouts.

She screams her legacy until her lungs grow weak.

The echoes of her gentle voice ring off in generations'

hearts'.

We bathe in her beauty without ever questioning her other half:

The sparker of life,

The creator of speechlessness.

Who planted the seed in the immaculate womb?

Will we ever know?

Or will the mystery die and sink with the red-eyed sun?

Does he stand by her side looking proud at their child?

Or does he stare daggers at her heart?

Does he envy her fame and glory?

No.

It's not in his nature.
