Still Here

Still Here

A Poem by Joli Dy
"

"You're only given a little spark of madness, and if you lose that, you're nothing. Note, from me to you... Don't ever lose that cause it keeps you alive" Robin Williams

"
Each evening

My feet find their way

Along the lake shore

Without me.

I am elsewhere

Climbing glaciers with you

In a dimension where I said, "yes."

If all things must exist,

Then I took your hand

And I am dancing in circles

Beside the fire

While you play sweet notes

Into the night air.

Along the lake,

I can almost believe

Almost find my way to you

Before the path ends,

Circling me back

To the beginning again

Where this walk must end

With myself,

Still here.

Madness is not something you lose, It’s something we gain, thinking we can climb I wonder, locked centering into winter and then falling, miles upon miles until of course you’re back inside, warm and snug and lost in lost dreams, all seem good as you leave yourself realizing that living in Chaos sometimes seems the greatest in magic that ever you may have. I wonder if you bubbled drank your it of way through the center of this one , or if this came like a wanderer thru no place not far nor near. Just a place close enough where you begin at the end seeing it for the first time as Mr. Elliot did in his four quartets. Did you notice the world was on fire? Did you even care? Did you sense your pulse walking beside you, two wantings as if one, or perhaps just the one lost in two invisibilities colliding in the hands of a wanted madness?
The muse of madness takes rarity of chance when everything inside of you says, “Put your shoes on, stay close and remember-You only begin to lose when you insist to gain, what may have never been there ever in all “….Just a few Random thoughts from the Notes of a Blind Man, reading beyond both page and margin as if for the very first time~

i have had many people say "no" to me. i wonder if they ever think of me - hope not. but reading this work, i can sense that there is almost a beauty in regret. in the romantic period, depression was not seen as something necessarily bad. today, we put a different label on it: a disease. but this seems to suggest that emotions are a sickness, not an essential feature of being alive. and so i watched the persona walking along the lake and felt a connection. while i feel sorry, there is also something important and strangely wonderful happening.

As we age our dreams, goals, wishes slowly fade away until all that is left is the stark reality of life which for many is the routine humdrum of the 9-5 working week then 2 days of cramming in living instead of existing.
I was never a dreamer as a kid wishing only to have and make more of my life than mum had managed, a single parent in a 3 bed house struggling to clothe and feed 7 kids.

Thoughts take a being in walks that make his/her own way, gently searching, sometimes finding, often staying. The bliss is being in the same safe place and knowing how to take up a true and loving residency. Your search is worth so many tributes. Tis real.

Thank you for your kind words.
we enter the world alone and exit it alone. nothing ventured, nothing gained even if only in our dreams. desire is a fire. mesmerizing.

And so, too, is regret. Thank you very much for your review.
My own bias might be clouding how I interpret this, but isn't that kind of the way art works?

Anyway... I feel very called out by this poem.
