Oudrine: Journal Entry 1

This first entry for Oudrine was a bit of an experiment. I was attempting to use verbiage and convey emotion that differs the most from my own. Hopefully her distinct personality comes through.

Today’s the day. I’m leaving home today on a journey, I’m still not sure if I want to go, but mother says it’s for the best. I think I will miss being here; I’ve grown up here, spent all of my life here up until now. I know everyone here; I know every little stone on the path to the river, every branch, leaf and bud on the trees around the edge of town. I like it here…. But maybe mother is right some people have a higher calling. And you can’t hide form your destiny no matter how hard you try. I’ll be leaving this afternoon to Sedenza, there’s a haven there for people like me. I guess it is exciting; very few people are invited to the haven. I wonder what it will be like there, or if I’ll really fit in. Until Jonas from the Haven came here a few months ago I thought I was the only one who is… like I am. I could write about this all day, but I have to get ready to go to the Air Whale station, the roads there are nearly impassible so an Air Whale carrier is the only way. Ok, I have a lot to get done before I leave, I’ll write more once I’m in the air.
