The Ballad of the Four Roses: Lost Dance of a RomanceA Poem by Q.Part IIThe Ballad of the
Four Roses: Lost Dance of a Romance There was a story shared with me from a person I’ve never
gotten to know, I met her on the corner of the bar in the town I used to go It began with the raising of a glass, a toast then a shot of
a smile, A brush of the lips then an irresistible offer to kindly stay
a while, At every given moment, I prayed and wished that she was you, And as she stole another kiss, my intentions followed too, Not once, not twice, but three times we confessed, That loneliness was a drink we shared when we only hoped for
the best, For a moment it was more than enough to stop the world on
its tracks, We raised another, took a shot, and left using the back, We drowned ourselves with the liquor and the toxic ran in
our veins, Desire was the b*****d drink served cold that helped me
forget your name, We lay at the hood of a car, unmoved by the silence of the
night, Temptation burned through her clothes like a fever ripping
through my mind, Then She told me that she loved Him and that she fucked all
her pain away, For a moment it worked in her favor until Hope abandoned her
Faith, She painted a perfect picture, so vivid that I envisioned, That I too had the same dreams and tried my hardest to live them, Weakened by her choices, I helped her get back to the world
she imagined I turned and saw the loveliest eyes of the loneliest girl on
the planet © 2016 Q.Reviews
