A Star In The Sky

A Star In The Sky

A Poem by John Walker

A Star In The Sky : By John D. Walker

In the twilight a star began glisten
Its flickering refused to fade
The darkness that enveloped it
The sun that tried to send it away

With hope, spirit and drive
The stubborn side refused to let go
Retaining all its might, it still glowed
Never relenting to all the powers above

Never truly gone with a might all its own
Still there, in an empty sky, not always seen
The star was still there, with a life all it’s own
Shining thoughout time, even through despair

Never wanting to let go, the forces agreed
This was no ordinary thing, how could it be
A name was finally given to a being unknown
This set it apart, while shining with a glory all its own
