Soaring With The AnglesA Poem by John WalkerI dedicate this poem to my Grandmother who is 87. She is blind and has not been able to walk on her own, now living and being cared for in a nursing home. She has been waiting to be with her husband (my Grandfather) who we lost in 1995 to cancer for someSoaring With The Angels : By John Walker 2008
A heart half empty, only once filled
A life only lived, that once had meaning
Once fulfilled, now all gone after being tilled
A field that now lays bare, longing for a new beginning
Waiting for their light to shine once again
While surviving with life's only necessities
To soar with winged angles, now that has began
Their souls now fulfilled, without life's complexities
They will shine above us, knowing all with a look
A smile from heaven, now a soul ever lasting
Their wait is now over, for now they have been took
While those left behind, remember all in pasting.
We are now left with a sorrow for their passing
Understanding the gift that has now been given without cost
We wish their passing love and peace, in our massing
A rebirth for one, to finally join the ones they had once only lost.
