Owl

Owl

 Owl : By John Walker

With eyes all seeing
They look all knowing
They pierce my very being
I shiver while outside, it is still snowing

A calling, as the night begins to unfold
A sound so clear and keen
Wondering at what is untold
For what could it mean??

With graceful movements all so clear
Sweeping down to embrace ones life
A scream echoing in my mind, all so near
A world there is no living without pain or strife

Sitting high up before us all
Looking up for us all to see
Never to close as we hear the unending call
Seeing one before us that is wild and so free

Got a Poe-sque touch of THE RAVEN about it. Always found owls fascinating myself ... all seeing and silent. xxx
