My Place

My Place

A Poem by John Walker
"

Where do we go, when our minds drift to that hidden place...

"
My Place : By John Walker

In a world where there seems to be no peace
With a restless insanity that seems to go on.
We draw within ourselves, into a place where it all seems to be gone.
A peaceful place that holds us dear.
In the arms of a lover, or the beauty of a garden,
Our special place, that gives us all the things we dream.
We want and need them, for it is our own true inner desire
A place that we are alone, where there is only you and I.
The feeling is so good,  if only you would stay with me awhile.
My mind begins to drift, I feel so good, embracing what you give.
As we strive within the world without, you are my endless want and need.
My mind races with what feelings you give
For as I bring you in close, my life seems to have more meaning.
In all the strife of the world, there is only you and I.
I feel I can endure, for the place I go, you are my endless desire.
