Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by John Walker
"

I wrote this after my Ex wife left me.... how I felt.

Forgotten  :   By John Walker

Once there was a house, brilliant and fair.
Then as the days went by, the house became banished.
No laughter filled the house with love and care,
It's fairness dimmed, its luster vanished.

No one lived there anymore, where cold winds nipped.
Only the growing darkness and emptiness were its friends.
No one wanted such a house, its paint all chipped.
It's windows seemed to tear, despair is what it sends.

It's wood went rotten, its bricks a crack.
The wind blown floor sent clouds of dust,
To fall again on a blackened floor to stack.
The house still stands, for life says it must.

The house stayed empty, so drab and bare.
It's call unheard, for no one seemed to care.
