My North Star

For someone who guides me "home"

The North Star in a darkened sky
Guiding me home, to where I belong
My light in times of trial
Creator of hope; Bringer of peace
I am a constant traveler stepping with weary feet
Making my way with a steady gait
Home is simply where you make it
And not necessarily a physical structure
I am more than satisfied with the state of mind
The constant enlightenment that you provide
Helping me to remain steadfast
With my faith unwavering, I look to you
The moon casting a soft glow on my face
Never have I been so sure of something
I am where the hands of the bitter, cold winter can not touch me
You are with me; distance be damned
This is where home is
