Time of Death

Time of Death

A Poem by John Russell
"

This is my most recently written poem; So I figure it'd be perfect to be my first posted. I wrote this in a sort of sad-sarcastic tone with a bit of feeling relieved or released.. feelings for a girl.

"

Oh, the timing! Her impeccable timing!

As if my mind is ever minding

I see her glow and how bright she's shinning

Oh, she's shinning, and her glow's so blinding

I see truth; her glow's inviting

I see truth in her soul-I'm finding

I see me when her soul's confiding

As lost as mine and constantly crying

As lost as mine, yet only hiding

Damn this timing! She must be trying!

An imperfect gift wrapped in sliver lining

Oh, this timing! Why would she be lying?

In my bed I see her lying

In my arms is when she's shying

As my life continues with no guiding

My soul's been lifted yet isn't flying

Meanwhile, in this dim inviting lighting

On her smooth inner thigh I'm biting

An ocean of eyes, a heavenly sighting

While our lying is contrasted in our subtle fighting

Oh, her Timing! So exciting!

Enticing..writing..ask sex if it's the right thing!

Is our love even trying?

My useless emotion always whinning

Why try when my soul's always crying

Always denying that my heart's ever trying

While denial is smart, my mind isn't buying

That sex is all she's been supplying

This sex with love underlying

Her death consumes her while I'm undying

Her hollowed shivers identifying

Our nights together and how defining

My resilient heart is now relying

Oh, the timing! I swear she's trying!

To sit there quiet and barely sighing!

An answer made, yet mine denying

Come out and say what you've been hiding!

Oh, the timing! My mind is flying

My soul is gone and your's complying

My heart is your's for the rest of time and

Now I lie to continue dying.
