To Be

To Be

A Poem by John
"

Be

"
Put your devices away.
Set to one side your schedules.
Open the door of the room and leave the house.
You need to be out of your mind and into your body.
Experience reality,
The natural world,
The soft grassy sod under foot,
The whistling salt-scented gust of air,
A flag in the sky,
A visionary melding in a sunset of orange, yellow and red.
Feel, hear, taste, smell,
See.
Be in the world
For the world is real.

Gee
We were never in as kids, always out playing and getting into mischief, we were semi feral:)
Today's kids are overly molly coddled and let do as they please so that their parents don't have to parent!

Absolutely right. Thanks Gee for stopping by.
this was how We grew up....

we didn't have the technology...only the need to run free....i ran free in the pastures of Vermont
when I was a kid...outside from sun up to sun down.
the days of manual typewriters and index cards.
What fun it was.
My young mind is still there although my much older body is here.
really nicely penned,
j.
