Dylan vs Keats

A Poem by John

As to the question, who is greater,
Dylan or Keats? I would answer:
Dylan is the better poet,
While Keats is the better singer.

I agree as well though I don't really believe that Dylan considered himself a singer, it was just his way of expressing his poetry. As for Keats, I never bought any of his records but I am sure you are right. : )

Keats would have signed the record in his own hand, unlike Dylan who uses a computer!
I would absolutely agree with what this poem states.
but then, there are those who make Dylan's songs sound so much better when they sing them.
But there are some songs that he has to sing...I can't imagine anyone else singing "Positively 4th Street"
or "It's all over now Baby Blue"--
I never did get bowled over by Keats...

Thanks Jacob. I agree that Dylan often sounds like the composer who is hawking his songs on the mark.. read more
