Following The Induction

Following The Induction

A Poem by John
"

Let me..

"
Let me crawl
over the organisation,
linking with silk every role, person, and outbuilding,
taking the pulse of their people and places,
understanding and imagining a whole
before I am escorted grub-like to my cubicle.
There, in a four-walled chrysalis,
I will conduct my apprentice business,
communicate by telephone and internet,
and gossip with colleague on break-time in face-time.
Alone, while also monitored, I will grow greedy,
develop into what is required but keep my soul unsullied.
When, in time, aerial-like with competence and mastery,
I will burst forth,
the walls collapsing with the flatulence of my freedom.
