Innocent X

Innocent X

A Poem by John
"

1

"
After nothing, not least the Earth,
The sleep of monsters could give birth

To reason - able to discern
The waves unfurled, the water fern.

Once came the bones and flesh, the nude,
A silhouette with attitude

Bombarded with diversity,
With every living oddity,

Not least the stationary tree,
Crustaceans cold and contrary.

Once, and once was eons ago.
Now hardly anything to show.

Round and round the ancient chasm,
Space and time is but a spasm...
