Crinkle Crags from A Poetical Guide to the Lake District Fells.A Poem by John Phoenix Hutchinson.Crinkle Crags by John Phoenix Hutchinson From A Poetical Guide to the Lake District Fells.
'Crinkle Crags' takes off its cloudy crown, Revealing in golden sunlight's breaking rays, Unmistakable undulations in rugged desolation, Step serrated crags, gaunt gullies in depression, A dramatic delight flourishing in procession.
Wild! Ruination, a raging mountains mountain, A hokey cokey dance set in rock and stone, A conga of ridges in rhythmic flows, Bestowing a musical extravaganza in lofty place, A crazy madcap song performed at break neck pace.
Beware though its joys, explore with a caution, To the unwary, the crags make many fools in pathless mist, Jesters of the steep shattered slippery scree, For valour's best side should be shown due respect, Most especially in chock stone gullies like the 'Bad Step'. © 2014 John Phoenix Hutchinson.Author's Note
