loss

loss

A Poem by John Cuttito

Newborn eyes reflection of ghostly visions

Balancing of natural laws till Libra tips the scale

Wanderers in the deepest highway mists

A permanent vacation

Maybe it is the Ghost Song Jim

    We’re lost again

Could we chase the moon

Horizon bound

To find our way out

Or find dawn as desolate

Creatures of the night

Scars of time the minute

Hand struggles backward

To reclaim past glory

A then erased by this second now

She’s dragging her hair

Across his body

As if the world hadn’t

Just exploded

Into fragments of yesterdays

Crumbling away when grasped

We turn away when asked if we believe in destiny choosing to make our own

Very lizard man...I particularly enjoyed the last stanza...as if the world hadn't just exploded...
