this morning love

this morning love

A Poem by John Cuttito

This morning love

I awoke

with starred eyes

to bear witness

to the glory of new days

this morning love

you spoke

with scarred sighs

to bear witness

to the loss of old ways

this morning love

has broke

with gentle sunrise

to bear witness

to the living that time delays

this morning love

i awoke

with hard eyes

to bear witness

to the place she no longer lays

where were you

this morning love?

we uncloak

with new eyes

to bear witness

to the coming of new ways

to celebrate old days

and this mouning love
