Liquid Lullaby

Liquid Lullaby

A Poem by John Chuck
"

Rap with a poetic, spoken word vibe.

"

Borrowin' tomorrows, she swallows her own sorrow

finds solice in the bottom of broken bottles

no model to follow, she follows pot-holes on auto

paints a Pablo Picasso till her jawbone is hollow

Husk of a cockroach, ghost of old memories

once a song bird, now a crow with no melody

so tip the bottle back, till you're full of the faux remedy

let the venom sting, slowly but steadily severing everything

Till everything is nothing, and nothing's good enough

till nothing turns to something, and something should be done

when something is anything you can put in a cup

it hurts to fall asleep but it's worse to wake up

Hush little baby don't you cry

everything's gunna be alright

drink away the day till there's nothing left to say

it's the liquid lullaby

I think the words liquid lullaby really sell this. Strange and beautiful image and of course since I've heard you sing this one, I know it sounds awesome too.
