Coloured Black and Grey

Coloured Black and Grey

A Poem by John Anderson

Desolation:
I look out upon a world
Coloured black and grey,
Alone.
I feel pain
The hurt burns
Eating away at me
A knife twisting in my guts.
Despair:
I long for death
To join you....in...
Freedom:
From this agony.
Closing my eyes
I see you lying there
Cold and blue and lifeless.
Our last kiss,
On your lips....
No feeling
No Life
Nothing...only death

Shot through and through in sober and somber bullets.

I can't help but think of Romeo and Juliet here, as much as I despise the play (and I'm a Shakespeare buff)...I like your poem much better...so ominous, almost gothic in its portrayal of romance snuffed out...great work John :)
