Chapter 4A Chapter by J.C. RabanesChapter IV On the following day, the prince woke up from being half dead in the small room. He grabs up his wounded body and feels a little bit okay; enough to hold himself up and stay standing for some moments. Then the old man came in. “Are you leaving now?” the old man said. “I need to go back.” The prince replied. And a moment later, the other men who brought him to the old man came. “Tang piyo.” They called. The old man then told them to come in. “How’s he?” they asked. Then the old man introduces them to the prince. “By the way, they are the one who brought you here. Their name was seus, itom, alonggas and deuman.” He introduces. The prince gave thanks to these men for helping him when he was on the edge between life and death. “You owe me one. I promise I will gave back the good deeds to you.” He said. “No- no- no! It’s okay.” One of them responded. Then they all feel comfortable with each other for just a little while. The men told him what happened that day when they found him in the middle of the ocean sailing on a small boat naked and heavily beaten. Until one of them asked. “What happened to you?” Itom said. The prince just started to tell the story but was interrupted when a woman came and spread the good news. “Tang Piyo! The prince is coming tomorrow!” the woman shouted. The old man panicked and told the men to prepare some of their livestock to cook for the coming of prince Machus. “What? Do you know my brother?” The prince said. They were all amazed to hear that reaction in the mouth of the prince and they all realized who the prince was. “Don’t tell me you’re Machus brother, Prince Euphatos III?!” the old man said. When they all know that the man in front of them was actually a prince in the kingdom of Revion, they quickly lie down their heads towards him and they beg for an apology. “Forgive us if we didn’t recognize you! Your highness.” The old man cried. The prince provoked them not to bow their heads towards him. “Don’t, you are not oblique to do that since I was in your land.” He said. Then suddenly they all do what the prince had said to them as an order. “So, do you know my brother?” the prince asked to the old man. The old man looked to the prince with a glimpse of happiness in his face. “Yes, it was when his ship during the war between your kingdom and to that of Gepethite was lost in the middle of the raging storm and landed in this island.” The old man replied. “Since then, we admire him because he is a soft hearted man.” He added. “My brother didn’t tell me about this.” The prince said. “Yes, because he doesn’t want this island be in the influence of war.” The old man replied. “He really a soft hearted man who makes me irritated as his brother.” The prince replied. The prince then told them the story which is the reason why he hated his brother that much. “When our mother gave birth to Machus, I was really upset to know that he passed away. I hated him, because of him, our mother had died.” The prince said. “No, I know that it is so painful for you but it is also painful for Machus to see you hating him like an enemy.” The old man said. “It’s not just like that, your mother, I’m sure, is willing to give his life to both of you.” He added. The prince was enlightened to what the old man had said to him and in the vicinity of his mind there comes a guilt which he not usually feels. It is affecting his conscience and started murmuring over these feelings he felt. “Damn! What is this feeling?” he said to himself. “Do this man is right?” he added referring to the old man.
While Prince Euphatos III is in the other land dealing with the people he saw for the first time and discovers the secret of Prince Machus, the kingdom is worried about him and the king announces his missing and he ordered the whole kingdom to search for him. “Anyone who can give information in search for the prince will have a reward.” The king announces. The people of Revion are extremely looking for the prince in their land but found nothing in that day. On the other day, the king called his son, Prince Machus, and ordered to search for his brother. “What he told you before he leave the kingdom?.” He asked. “Father, he said nothing that day but I saw him leave the palace angry and unsettled.” He replied. The king was worried to him the more when he heard it from Prince Machus. “I am afraid what he have done and what happened to him right now.” The king said. “I’m sorry father, I may be the reason why he leave the palace.” Prince Machus said. “I know he is reckless sometimes but it is improbable that you are the reason.” He replied. “Father, I told him lately an insulting words.” Prince Machus said. “Yes, I saw that but it is just a small matter. In fact you’ve got a good point there.” He replied. The king then remembered that the prince got mad when the kingdom of Imus declares war against their kingdom in which Prince Euphatos III was the most affected since he and the king of Imus had been friends during their joint forces against the kingdom of Gepethite. “Is he?” the king uttered. “Is he was in Imus?!” he worried. The prince realized it the way his father did. “It is possible.” He said. “You go now, find your brother and come back if you have seen him.” The king ordered. © 2015 J.C. Rabanes |
