Would You. Would I?A Poem by John117Would you be there in the darkest of times in the cursed areas of evil? To lift me up when I’m down?; Would I explore a dim forest to look for you in the wilderness where only the most foul creatures venture. Would you listen to the good treasures and the bad tragedies of one’s life? The inclining ear of a loved one; Would I keep my eyes on the mirror? so I can catch the first glimpse of the good and bad before I judge your situation. Would you be there to hold up the shield which is in bonafide faith? Deflecting arrows when they light up the sky to rain terror?; Would I hold my sword in a sheath, to be there with a ready sword? To fight together in this war if it means to be wounded to save a friend. How would you exalt the weak? Where in yourself are strong and courageous; How would I learn to be protected under the great wings of our creator? When I’m struck down, discouraged and corrupted like everyone else. Would you be patient to wait and wait for the sun to rise?; when the cold breeze freezes all the harvest you have worked tirelessly to sow; Would I reap what you have sowed? Like a thief who steals and betrays his own friends. As we watch the battles of life before us, not knowing what shall come to pass, when we are tiresome and discouraged; knowing who owns the war; Would you accept we are in defeat; Would you, Would I? © 2017 John117 |
