A journey

A journey

A Poem by John Waits
"

I'm just putting this one out there without to much thought into the organization of it all. Just the thoughts racing through my head at this moment.

"
A journey
long, distracting, but necessary.
Know one will really know
where i've been.

A weight has been lifted.
I never new how heavy it really was.
But it's a part of me now
and always will be.

I'm off to a new place.
I don't know where that is yet.
The future is uncertain.
And I need to get through today.

Give me strength, wisdom
and courage to carry on.
Trust myself and others.
Pull me through.

I have scars.
I am worn and tattered.
There is a buzz in my head.
Carry on.

This is very powerful. I like it a lot. It is almost like a prayer. I like this stanza:

A weight has been lifted.
I never new how heavy it really was.
But it's a part of me now
and always will be.

The weight is lifted, yes, but will always be a part of you. Many things in life are like that. I hope that you find the strength to hold yourself up tall under your heavy burdens.

I really like your word choice and structure in your poems. You are a good writer who seems to have an inherent sense of self expression. Excellent write.
