Gold and Silver Promises

Gold and Silver Promises

A Poem by Johannes Fahrion

Gold and Silver Promises

In the mist where silence stills,

the heat too cold to flutter,

there came for one too fortunate,

warm words he brought to utter.

Gold and silver promises, borne,

of words from slackened tongue,

so sweet their taste and truth,

awakened the dead in the young.
