Alcohol

Alcohol

A Poem by Johanna
"

"Promises aren´t enough this time, you utter the words, then you leave them behind.."

"

Promises aren´t enough this time
You utter the words, then you leave them behind
Words mean nothing at all
When your drowning your heart in alcohol

Very late a friday evening
The world should know how you´re feeling
You lost your way, then you lost her
You drain a drink, and pour another

Promises aren´t enough this time
You´re wondering why I left you behind
You broke hearts and you broke laws
Still can´t decide if you´re a lost cause

Very late a sunday evening
Nighttime is such a strange thing
Peaceful, quiet in the moonlight
Until it´s spent unable to stand upright

Promises aren´t enough this time
I bailed you out of jail around nine
I love you each time before you fall
and drown your heart in alcohol
