Taken Away

I decided to write today.. it´s been so long, and this is what came to me.

Are you scared?

Are you scared of the future that´ll come

Or are you just happy you have one?

Since good things keep on being taken away

Just taken away..

Are they good? The days that will come

Are they good?

Or will you want to give away some

Sleep of the pain until it´s taken away

Just taken away

Are you scared?

Are you scared that they really never cared

That affection was simply a dream

Or are you happy for a slate that will be clean

When the ink is taken away

Just taken away

Are they good? These never ending thoughts

Are they good?

I wish I had answers but I do not

I'm just waiting to see, who I will be

Until my life is taken away

Just taken away..

Johanna: I enjoyed it; have been reading submissions for lyrics and this one has so far stood out; like the chorus...It could be about so many different things a reader/listener would love it. If you're going for a song, the word ink seems a little misplaced, but maybe not. Poetically, it possesses good flow, and forces the reader to think. All the hopes and aspirations we have, especially when beginning to stand on our on two feet, becoming an adult; lends doubt, invades our minds; but i tell my son; if you don't know, you just don't: but if you wish to you can. Sometimes growing up and even as mature adults we feel inadequate not having all the answers; so ridiculous. Keep writing. You have so much talent. Thank you...Dale

Thankyou for making my day Dale. Glad you liked this one.. I usally sing while I write my poems so I´ve never sure if they are really lyrics or poem, so probably both ;) I´ll think about the ink thing if there is something else that fits better :) happy you liked it. I sometimes feel I write poems too songlike, but maybe that´s okay.
