It´s true

It´s true

A Poem by Johanna
"

got inspired by a song from the radio

"

Maybe it´s true, I´m not good at holding on

I lose grip every time repairing takes too long

and half the time I don't know what´s going on

Until it´s over, and you're gone

Maybe it´s true, I´m not good at falling in love

Cause afterwards I have no clue what I was thinking of

Then a heart breaks, and it was all my fault

I just know that I need it, love is too easy to exalt

Maybe it´s true, I'm quick to run when I´m afraid

So far away that all our promises fade

Lonely I'd hide out in the shade

Until you're done wishing that I had stayed

Maybe it´s true, I´m too self-centered

Armour up before I uttered a word

Until my minds logic was all that I heard

To focused on my fragments to see that I broke her

Maybe it´s true, I don't deserve anyone

Why should I be loved after all I´ve done

Honey you deserved someone better than me

because all I've ever said was I, and never we

Ouch. I love this poem. As writers we must be brave and willing to discover ourselves as we discover the world and life. This poem shows your ability to look at yourself and describe the truth you see. You are the poet in your family and you are a poet in our world. :-)

In a relationship, we accuse each other and question motives all the time. Sometimes we blame ourselves if things go wrong. Bravo.............

So true … when we are focused on our own hurts we often miss what we do to others. Great write.

this was honestly written piece, you got inspired from the song on Radio that would have probably strummed few old chords... I understand that feel.

My fav. line: "I just know that I need it, love is too easy to exalt" .. Very vivid imagery you`ve plotted here. Good to read.

thankyou John :)
Confusion, guilt aftermath of a broken love, promises and dreams. These words are straight from your heart and reading them is an experience. So many times we fall in love or at least we think we are in and try hard to come to terms with complication only to find that it no longer exists. A side of us dies with the failure of every love story. All I can say peace those who have loved and left with a broken heart. Thanks for inviting to this beautiful write.

You just dive so deep into your soul... who you are.. who you've been... the storm within you, though trying to love... and those last lines? Just heartbreaking.. painfully honest... Powerful write.
