Wrote this after visiting an old relative.. Simple, but hope you like it.

Regret




These past couple of days have been so strange
I don´t know what, but something has changed
You say that the years have left their mark
And the heart that once was light is growing dark

These past couple of days have been so bleak
Mind so strong, bones so weak
Time has passed with every heartbeat
Pain so bitter, memories so sweet

These past couple of days have passed in a blur
You look back and see that nothing is as it were
Your growing older, and you wish you told her
But now the past is set

These past couple of days have been so stange
All that remains is regret

Wow, this is a lovely piece; vivid descriptions. The repitition and the rhymes are used so beautifully. Could feel the lonesome old age. Short poem yet conveys a lot :)
