OrdinaryA Poem by Johanna"He didn't tell me how to be extraordinary..."Ordinary My father told me, be extraordinary Be extraordinary when you grow up Being ordinary is not enough Son, ignore your heart Always listen to the mind Be respectable, be smart Or you'll be left behind He didn't tell me how to be extraordinary And in the darkness I couldn't find rest A painful feeling in my chest The world looks different in the night but still in the glow of daylight I can´t be the best I can´t be extraordinary I only know how to be me I'm ordinary, I'm reckless I used to be free My father told me, be extraordinary In everything you do I tried to fit into his view So my future would be bright But I'm only ordinary So I couldn't get it right How can someone ordinary go the extraordinary way? I asked, but no one knew They simply told me to seize the day I´ll seize the day by being ordinary Like only I know how I´m sorry father But this is me Happy, ordinary This is who I chose to be Am I extraordinary now? © 2014 JohannaReviews
